This fanfic was built around the queer-cultural experience of scarcity, and how this affects the "hookup culture" gay men are capable of participating in. When there are only so many people in the world that share your sexuality, there are only so many accessible to you, how does that affect the way you live? How do you internalize that? And how does that make you settle or not-settle when you're desperate for love?
